We will leave Paris cycling along canals leading to the banks of the Seine and to the stunning Parc des Impressionistes in Rueil-Malmaison.
The day will end in Maisons Laffitte at a few steps from the castle, a fine example of French Baroque style built to host King Louis XIV.

Day 3: Maisons Laffitte– Gisors (75 km/ 47 miles)
Our day will start in the shade of oaks and beeches of St. Germain-en-Laye Forest and of the Oise Valley. With its vibrant landscapes, this valley was a source of inspiration for many Impressionist painters including Daumier, Pissarro, Cézanne and Van Gogh (we will have the chance to cycle across one of his most famous paintings, Wheatfield with Crows).
We will then continue into the Vexin Français Regional Nature Park, an area rich in history, nature, and architecture. After a picnic break in the park of the Castle of Théméricourt, we will reach Chars and take the train to Gisors, in Normandy. Its ancient medieval city centre is wrapt in the mystery and legend of Templar Knights.
Dinner at the restaurant and overnight at the hotel in Gisors.
Day 4: Gisors – Forges-les-Eaux (60 km/ 37 miles)
In the morning we will ride through the rich countryside and quaint villages of the Epte Valley.
See the beautiful Abbey of Saint-Germer-de-fly, stop for lunch in a typical French village, cool off as you dip your toes in the crisp clean natural spring waters of Haussez.
The ancient thermal centre of Forges-les-Eaux is today’s destination.
Dinner at a typical restaurant and overnight at the hotel in Forges-les-Eaux.
Day 5: Forges-les-Eaux – Dieppe (50 Km/ 31 miles) | Ferry to Newhaven, England
A converted rails-to-trails bike path will be our stress-free route to Dieppe. The landscape along this 56 km stage is dotted with thriving farms and castles. The castles, such as Mesnières-en-Bray and Arques-la-Bataille, serve as a reminder of France’s rich history.
Along the way, we will pass by the village of Neufchatel-en-Bray, famous for its heart shaped soft cheese similar to Camambert. During a short break you will have the chance to try a sample and hear the romantic legend about its origins. Once in Dieppe, park your bike, relax on the beach, or savor local oysters before boarding the ferry to cross the Channel to Newhaven, England.
Dinner on the ferry and overnight at the hotel in Newhaven.
Day 6: Newhaven – Crawley (62 km/ 39 miles)
Our first day in England will start with a ride along Newhaven Marina and toward the stunning cliffs of South Downs.
A bit of climbing will take us to breathtaking views as we will ride along the top, before riding down to a beautiful (and flat) seaside path along the beach. For 10 km enjoy a scenic path with immaculate cliffs on one side and the English Channel, La Manche, on the other. Soon we will arrive in Brighton, a lively destination, popular for its pier attractions, cafes, and charming old town known as the Lanes.
After a break in Brighton, we will head inland through the rolling hills of Devil’s Dyke, a legendary valley in the County of Sussex that is said to have been dug by the Devil in person.
We will reach Crawley cycling in the shade of Tilgate Forest.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Crawley.
Day 7: Crawley – London (67 km/ 42 miles)
The last cycling day marks the return to urban life, although re-entry will be gradual.
We will start the day cycling across the English countryside of the County of Surrey and into the suburbs of London. The route traverses city parks filled with runners, cyclists, and dog walkers as you will make your way to the city center. River Wandle will lead us to River Thames and on to the heart of London.
